Morgan Scarborough is a graduate of Appalachian State University’s Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. Her upbringing in the Appalachian Mountains, USA, shaped her love for the environment and sense of adventure.
Her professional skills include strategic planning, external and internal communications, research, and stakeholder relations.
Morgan’s passion for interdisciplinary partnership and cross-cultural communication brought her to The Future School’s 2023 Chilean expedition as a student. The experience led her not only to a new perspective on climate change and cultural exchange, but also to her undergraduate thesis. The thesis, titled Understanding Climate Change in Chile Through Oral Histories, focuses on blending the scientific and personal to bring humanity and accessibility to conversations about climate change. Her work was referenced in the 2023 Climate Change Program report for UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day in Chile in 2024.
After being an intern with us, she stayed on as our communications advisor, and we look forward to future projects and research in this important field.
